Hello everyone! My name is Teresa, I'm 24 years old & I'm from a small town in Tennessee. I have two older sisters & one older brother. I am currently living with my parents, but as of September, I will leave my parents home permanently to pursue my mission trip in Africa.

When I come back from Africa, I will be living on my own & saving for my next mission trip. I have at least two more mission trips that I would like to apply for & as you can tell, I am wasting no time planning for my future.

To tell you a little bit about myself, I personally do not desire to live the 9 to 5 lifestyle, (not that there's anything wrong with that) I'm just saying, as for now, it's not for me. I desire to travel the world, serving in missions, learning about other cultures & understanding what it is that God wants me to do, in order to help the rest of the world, with what little I have.

I have been to Africa (Kenya) once before, back in June of 2006. I independently sought out a two week mission trip to Africa because my heart burned so passionately to go there, even to the point that it hurt. And, Africa is the country that my heart has lead me to, so I do feel called to serve there.

And, I want to share some characteristics about my personality, because I think it's important for those who will be on my team, to understand more about me & who I am. I am an introvert & for those of you who don't know what an introvert is, here's the definition of it; introverts are more reserved, less out going & less socialable. Sometimes these characteristics can be interpreted as being negative, when that isn't true at all. It's just how God created introverts to be.

Anyway, I am a very quite person (which most people mistake for shyness, when it's not). I am easily hurt & it doesn't take much to make me cry.
However, I do love to laugh & I feel as though I am very easy to get along with. But I can't lie, sometimes I do have a tendency of sticking my foot in my mouth, but for the most part, I do try to think before I speak!

Last, I am very excited about this mission trip & I can't wait to meet everyone & to serve!

Teresa
